Speaker urged to elect Poudel new PM

Parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress (NC), Ram Chandra Poudel has urged the Speaker to elect him the new prime minister through the Legislature-Parliament in line with the order issued by the Supreme Court (SC).
Poudel is the lone contender for the prime ministerial polls ongoing in the Parliament. However, the nation has not got a new prime minister despite 17th rounds of the runoff.
Poudel accompanied by NC chief whip Laxman Ghimire met with Speaker Subash Chandra Nemwang this afternoon and called for the implementation of the SC order.
Talking to media persons briefly after the meeting, Poudel said in the meeting they urged the Speaker to summon the House session at the earliest and take the ongoing prime ministerial elections to conclusion by announcing him a winner unanimously.
“We also urged the Speaker to create environment conducive for calling the House session before December 2″, he added. RSS
